Lori is a retired school psychologist with over 35 years of school experience with children from pre-school through high school. The majority of her career was working in the Newtown and New Fairfield school systems. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Clark University and her Masters and Professional Diploma in school psychology from St. John’s University. Lori is a Connecticut Certified and Nationally Certified School Psychologist.

She has been involved in group and individual counseling of children with a variety of needs:

Anxiety

Depression

Anger

Social Skills Development

Low Self Esteem

Attention

Impulse Control

Learning Problems

 

Lori uses an eclectic approach when working with children:

Play

Modelling

Role Play

Canine Therapy

Multimedia such as literature, u-tube videos, and video taping

Activities targeted towards skill development

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Reality Therapy

Rogerian Supportive Therapy

 

In addition, Lori is involved in conducting parent workshops and consulting with parents, school personnel, and doctors.
